IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE 2012 PROGRAM: The 3rd/4th grade session is now FULL. The 5th/6th grade session is now FULL. Due the current large number of registrations, an extra session for 1st graders has been added. All first graders will now play at 8:00am while 2nd graders will continue to have their session at 9:00am. Winter Indoor Soccer is a developmental program for those in grades 1 through 6. Instructions on how to play the indoor game will be given at the beginning of each session. Instructions will be followed by games. These games are structured as small-sided games focused on speed, ball control, and agility. Parents are encouraged to attend to learn more about the indoor game. All games are held at the Robert A Lee Recreation Center, 220 S Gilbert St, Iowa City, IA 52240 on Saturday January 7,14,21,28, 2012. 1st graders will play from 8:00am to 9:00am, 2nd graders will play from 9am to 10am, 3rd/4th graders will play from 10am to 11am, and 5th/6th graders will play from 11am to noon. The cost of the program is $30. Openings are limitied due to availability of the indoor facility so register early.
All players are required to wear shin guards covered by socks at all games. Any color shorts or t-shirts are allowed. Pinnies will be provided. Cleated soccer shoes are not allowed. Indoor soccer shoes are recommended but any non-black soled shoes which do not mark the floor are acceptable. Mouth guards are not required but are recommended at all levels of play.
